Banjo-Tooie XBLA - Stop and Swap Functionality - 05-06-2009, 10:00 AM

I have recently purchased both Banjo-Kazooie (BK) and Banjo-Tooie (BT) titles for the Xbox live arcade.

In using these titles I have been unable to access the stop and swap functionality.

I am aware this functionality also exists between BK and the 360 title - "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts" (N&B). Further it seems, from my understanding, that in order for this feature to become available within the BK title, a N&B save file needs to be present on the Xbox 360 system.

I do not have the N&B title nor have an interest in obtaining it in the future. The "stop and swap" trailer depicted functionality solely between (and only requiring) the two Xbox live arcade titles (BK and BT).

Is anyone aware of how can I unlock this feature's functionality between my two purchased games?

I will be greatly disappointed if this feature is unavailable without the purchase of the third product which is not mentioned in either the text description of the feature in the BT title nor the Stop and Swap feature trailer.

I'm not sure about this, but it is my understanding that you collect the items in Banjo-Kazooie and then somewhere in Banjo-Tooie you will meet up with someone where you can partake in the Stop and Swap feature.

Has anyone done this yet or does anyone know exactly how this works?

Yes you can. You need to have the items from the original though.

You get a gamer pic, a theme, some new moves and jinjo as multiplayer character.

You just have to go to Heggy. i think he is opposite the first level in a crack.

Thank you for your comments thus far,

I am aware that you need to collect the items in BK then speak to Heggy in BT.

The problem is the areas to collect the items in BK are not open. (Eg. the island cave in Treasure Trove Cove).'

From my understand a Nuts and Bolts save file is required to "unlock" these areas in BK - so you can then get the items - so you can then see Heggy in BT.

The drama is I do not have or want N&B hence the the Stop n Swap functionality is not available between BK and BT.

Seeing as the trailer mentioned functionality solely between BK and BT i am after a way to unlock these areas in BK without N&B as advertised.

Um i don't know then!
Have you tried going back to play witha BT save file on your HD and seeing if that works.

Alright, so, Stop and Swop is in Banjo Tooie. You do not need N&B to access the Stop and Swop items in Banjo Kazooie. These places unlock from one of three ways:
  1. if you had NaB, they were already unlocked.
  2. if you bought Banjo Tooie, they will unlock.
  3. if you got the secret ending of mumbo showing you the flip book of stop and swop items, they will unlock.

So if you go into Banjo-Kazooie, and you have opened the stop and swop items, you simply need to touch them (not easy to do for the one in treasure trove cove, but the rest are easy to get to).

After that, go into Banjo-Tooie, and play up unto you meet Heggy. Then talk to her and she will then proceed to hatch your eggs, one at a time (you must talk to her 6 times to hatch all the eggs). They will unlock in some order:
  • a gamer pic
  • a gamer theme
  • the homing egg cheat
  • the breegull bash
  • jinjo in multiplayer
  • and lastly: a hint at a new game.
