Game Night Returns! - Xbox Live Arcade Game News, Reviews and Forum

Just a quick post to let everyone know that there is a new section here on the Xbox Live Arcade forums where we will try to setup game nights for web site users and their friends to participate in community gaming experiences on Xbox Live.

First, it would probably be a good idea to see what kind of games you all own or wish to play multiplayer. Remember though that lots of XBLA games are just two player, so take that into account when choosing. We'll try to figure out a way to incorporate these games at a later date.

So, anyone with ideas to get this off the ground, and make it successful, please step forward and post your ideas.

I created a gamertag called (XBLA dotcom) for everyone to add so we can see who is on from the site in case you want to play a game or so it can be easier for game invites, so if you could add them it would be great

Already accepted the Friend Request from XBLA dotcom. Hoping others here will accept or request so we can play some great multiplayer titles and get some much needed missing achievements (or maybe thats just me -lol).

Most likely not this weekend as there is a Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack Play & Win event happening on Xbox Live. It is hopeful that something can get started for the first weekend in May. What does everyone else think? And what Xbox Live Arcade game(s) do you want to play?

I'm really sorry I haven't been active at all...and I probabaly won't be able to until testing is over. I still have 4 AP tests, all my finals, SAT, SAT IIs to go in the next month. But 34 on ACT, so not playing video games paid off!

I'll probably send XBLA dotcom a Friend Request, but don't expect me to be online much..maybe an hour on Friday or Sat...

We are getting closer to returning!
There is going to be some major changes on how Game Night is run.

First off, there are more people willing to support and contribute to the Game Night idea. I would like to thank those people in advance: overachievement and XBLA dotcom (you both know who you are, and without you this wouldn't be going forward).

I encourage you all (regulars and noobs) of this site to friend request these gamertags to participate in Xbox Live Gamer Nights.

OVERACHIEVEMENT - will be hosting retail game nights
XBLA dotcom - will be hosting Xbox Live Arcade game nights
VanIslePimp - will be hosting both or participating in both

Did I mention that prizes will be awarded in the near future?

PRIZES: MS Points, Custom T-Shirts & Faceplates to name a few. Your participation and word-of-mouth will determine the size of the prize. Check back here often for more info on dates and times.

Eh, just an input, but how are the custom faceplates going to work? My old site tried to have that as a prize in our first tournament, but we couldn't find anywhere that would make a custom faceplate. The closest we got was a sticker-skin type of deal, or a clear plastic cover that you can tape a printed faceplate design on to. Both were outright ugly so we decided against it.

If you have a solution, I would love to hear it, as I wouldn't mind getting a quality custom faceplate.

At this time we are still trying to work out the bugs of the system to see what would work best. I think that MS Points is the best way to distribute prizes.

Ultimately, a T-shirt and MS Points for the grand prize and possibily a T-shirt or MS Points for the second and third prize is what we're looking at.

Unfortunately, we don't have sponsors at this time so prizes are limited. This won't be a "post the most" contest.

With any hope, users of this site will help make the Gamer Night Weekends successful enough that bigger prizes will become available. Tell your Friends =)

At this time, only a few individuals of XboxliveArcade.com are willing to put forward their time and money to make this a Community Forum.
